Protein detection and quantification

  • Fully automated immunoassay on a microfluidic lab-on-a-chip with minimal hands-on time.
  • High specificity through antibody-based reactions
  • High sensitivity thanks to chemiluminescence and supersensitive measuring electronics
  • Microfluidic platform adaptable to a wide variety of sample matrices
  • No complex sample preparation needed thanks to robust microfluidics, with unchanged measurement quality
  • Closed fluidics system to minimise contamination risks and variability
  • Intuitive single-button operation and compact size for flexible integration in the laboratory or at the point of need

Most frequently asked questions and answers:

How does a test with the CLIP-X* system work?

The microfluidic chip is inserted into the device; the sample is pipetted into the sample reservoir and sealed with a lid. The device is then started using the single-button control, whereupon it automatically controls all process steps from sample handling to detection.

What types of proteins can be detected with the CLIP-X* system?

The system is designed as a platform for antibody-based immunological assays. In principle, all proteins for which suitable antibodies and CLIA assays are available can be addressed.

What sample preparation steps must users perform?

The required sample preparation depends on the sample matrix and the specificity of the antibodies used and serves primarily to avoid possible cross-reactivity. Since the fluidics in the chip are robustly designed and can process a wide range of sample matrices, in many cases no or only minimal preparation (e.g. simple dilution) is necessary. The platform at IMM has already been used to detect toxins in milk without any sample preparation.

Can the platform be adapted to your specific assays?

Yes. The system was developed as a flexible platform. Through collaborative research and development, we are happy to assist you in integrating target-specific immunoassays into process automation. The microfluidic platform can be adapted to different protein targets, sample matrices and workflows.
