Our research and development
PCR technologies are not only applicable in the medical field, but also in industrial settings such as food safety or biotechnology. At Fraunhofer IMM, we develop PCR technologies for point-of-care applications that are versatile, fully automated and can be used at the point of need. We are working on a compact, fast and cost-effective system for the rapid and fully automated detection of pathogens and contaminants at the point of need.
Fraunhofer IMM is also working on the development of systems for automated cell isolation, the isolation and analysis of exosomes, and the detection of freely circulating DNA, which support, among other things, an easier and optimized personalized cancer diagnostics.
A microfluidic cartridge is always at the center of the system, whose functionality is adapted to the respective tasks.
