Combining the converging worlds of biogas, biomass, waste-to-x, carbon capture and utilisation, carbon sequestration, the bioeconomy, Bio360 Expo is an international exhibition providing a panoramic view of all things bio-derived.

We will be showcasing our hydrogen technology solutions in power-to-gas processes at Bio360 Expo 2023 in Nantes, France. These include our application-oriented developments in methanation in compact microstructured reactors.

Visit us at the German Pavilion in hall XXL booth D51.

About
There is a strong consensus that technologies for CO2 methanation will heavily support the decarbonisation of the economy in the future. In this context, Fraunhofer IMM has successfully conceived a process by which to attain this goal. The IMM methanation technology consists primarily of two reactors that employ microstructures coated with catalysts. While the first stage of the methanation reaction occurs in an adiabatic monolithic reactor, the second takes place in a plate-heat exchanger reactor. This configuration leads to high conversion and selectivity and efficiently manages the heat released during methanation. IMM technology is currently in the scaling-up stage and finding direct application for production of biomethane through the conversion of CO2 from biogas plants.
