From many years of cooperation with industrial companies we know our customers’ markets and challenges in the field of analysis systems and sensors. We have the knowledge and the experience to provide individually tailored and economically attractive solutions. This includes idea generation, increase in efficiency and performance, and optimization of existing systems and components as well as methodology development leading to the realization and implementation of specific, intelligent and best possible integrated applications up to the stage of pilot production. Integrated analysis systems and novel sensors are drivers of innovation in many industries as analysis results are rapidly and immediately available and processes could be operated in the optimal range. The main application areas are: quality control of production processes, process analytical technology (PAT), medical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, food safety, protection against biological threats as well as research in and therapy of neurodegenerative diseases.

As one of the pioneers of microfluidics, we have been developing fully integrated and automated Microfluidic Analysis Systems for over 20 years. Based on a “microfluidic construction kit“ with comprehensive coverage of the required functional elements, we are able to develop an application idea to the proof of function and build fully functional demonstrators up to pilot production within short time. During system development, we always take into account all aspects of economic efficiency and, if necessary, we complementarily check or optimize the system design using numerical simulation.

We attach particular importance on optimal manageability and unrestricted usability in terms of future use as well as compatibility with relevant manufacturing methods. With our comprehensive manufacturing possibilities we are able to directly implement system solutions and allow our customers to test those under real conditions.

We have gained experience over many years in the development of customer-specific optical, electrochemical and MEMS sensor technology. Comprehensive competencies in the design of microstructured components and their system integration associated with a wide spectrum of micro manufacturing processes such as mechanical precision machining, laser material processing, silicon and thin-film technology are our unique selling points. The fields of application range from industrial gas-sensor technology and media analysis to the analysis of special liquids and liquid films (for example online lube oil sensor technology) and medical diagnostics. With our specific manufacturing technology we realize both, rigid and flexible multi-channel microelectrode probes for neural stimulation and signal transmission in the field of neuroscience and neurosurgery according to customer specifications.

In the framework of "Systems Engineering" our production portfolio ranges from numerous individual manufacturing processes up to equipment engineering. By this, we understand the integration of microfluidic cartridges or e.g. silicon-based sensors in mechanical constructions in functional connection with the necessary optics, actuators as well as with other electronic functional elements (heaters, motors, pumps, etc.). Due to embedded microcontrollers or single-board computers these systems are software controlled. Hence, measurement results can be directly viewed on the integrated displays or they can be transferred via standard interfaces or wireless to a central computer. We adapt the vertical range of manufacture to the economic conditions and the scope of cooperation approved by the customer.
